1. Mental factors as stress or depression

2. It more hard for girls to quit smoking than for men.

3. Most of girls started smoking because : 

    a. have a friends where best friend or boy of her dream was smoker.

    b. has a smoker(s) inside her family.

    c. to be modern and as most of girls at her group (univercity/college/workplace) (as socialization factor).

Girls pick up the habit of smoking more often than boys. Surprisingly this was proved in one of the surveys carried out by a leading health magazine.  The reason for the increase in the ratio of female smokers are said to be “Peer pressure of dealing with adolescence”.

Girls who start out smoking for the first time usually smoke about 2 to 3 cigarettes a day. Before they realize they would be addicted to it.

Young female smokers are well aware of the ill-effects of smoking cigarettes. They still continue with the bad habit knowing all the potential dangers of it.  Negligence is one of the main factors of this behavior. The popular culture believes that by smoking cigarettes body weight can be reduced. This is one of the main reasons why girls are encouraged to smoke. There is no absolute evidence to support the claim. Body weight does decreases due to the loss of appetite. This is indirectly related to smoking but is considered as a dangerous obsession.

It can damage the nervous system and thereby reducing proper blood flow. It directly affects the skin resulting in wrinkles and premature aging of hair. So there is no real reason why girls should pick up the deadly habit of smoking.

Smoking can interfere with your personal life as well. There are many men who do not prefer a girl who smokes. It’s a turn off for many men due to the bad breath that cigarette causes. If you continue smoking cigarettes for a long time the teeth can turn yellow in color. Social smoking is a concept followed by many without realizing the long term addiction to the harmful chemical nicotine found in cigarettes.

So if you are ever compelled to smoke a cigarette by any of your friends politely deny the request. Your health is very important and you are the better judge to know what is right for you.
