Smoking is the addiction. I take it as a disease from which people can only come out if they quit it. Smoking is the base of hundreds of diseases. Each year more than tem million people die due to smoking. Smokers do know about the health affects and death ratios but they still can not quit smoking because they have no strong will power. if we try to find out that how many people smoke in the whole world so we would be surprised to know that about one point five billion people smoke in the whole world.

In the estimation of year 1998 about 24.1 percent of the adults do smoking. Fifty eight percent of the world population is a smoker in which twenty two percent are women and twenty six percent are men who smokes. In Africa, the ratio of smokers is about twenty five percent. The lowest rates of people who smoke are of the Hispanics, It’s just about nineteen percent.

And after it is the Asian Pacific islands in which ratio is just thirteen percent and this is every good thing to know. The highest ratio of smokers is in America. It is about forty eight percent people of whole US population smokes.

If we analyze from the above ratio we would come to know that it is half of the world that smokes and from these smokers half of the ratio die every year.

Smoking is not at all the good thing to adopt. The ratio of people who are dying each year is increasing year by year but some resources say that there is decline seen in the ratio of people who smokes, but the data and statistics shows that about forty eight percent of the worlds total population smokes. So there is no big deal for decline.

The half of the world population of smokers can increase the chances of the deaths in the other half passive smoker’s population. The smokers are not killing their own selves but they are harming and taking close to the death the rest of the non smoker population to death.

Many people are trying to quit smoking by following the treatments that are meant to quit smoking. Some of them are getting success but others are still doing efforts or they somehow come back towards their daily smoking routine.

It is the duty of government and people close to smokers to help them to get rid of the cigarette. They should try to reduce the ratio of the smokers so that they can live a healthy life.
